  • VW Golf R (Mk7.5) 2.0 TSI (5G) (18-20) Resonator Delete Performance Exhaust

Cobra Sport VW Golf R (Mk7.5) 2.0 TSI (5G) (18-20) Resonator Delete Performance Exhaust

Cobra Sport performance exhausts enhance the sound, looks and quality of your vehicle giving you the ultimate driving experience. Our sports exhausts range is fully guaranteed to give you assurance of our quality. This VW Golf R Mk7.5 (non-GPF) performance exhaust is made in 2.75"/69.9mm pipework and replaces the centre resonator/silencer. All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. Note - Fits to O/E exhaust only - the original pipework will have to be cut to enable this exhaust to fit the vehicle. Note: This product fits Non-GPF models only, please see alternative listings for GPF models. Press Release The resonator delete pipe is manufactured with CNC mandrel bent T304 stainless steel pipework with a bore size of 2.75" (69.9mm). The new part removes the central silencer/resonator found in the O/E system allowing for smoother gas flow rates for improved power delivery and a noticeably enhanced exhaust tone. The new Cobra Sport Exhaust significantly improves the sound of the car, increasing in volume but more importantly producing a deeper better quality sporty sound. Cobra Sport Sales Director Matt Thomas commented, "Our new resonator delete pipes are an excellent introduction to performance exhaust improvements. We find many customers start with a resonator delete but soon take this further, fitting a Cobra Sport cat back or full turbo back exhaust upgrade. The exhaust tone with the delete pipe fitted is noticeably louder, deeper and more aggressive giving the desirable performance exhaust characteristics of a sport exhaust upgrade, with crackles and pops significantly enhanced. We have a before and after video on our website which demonstrates the substantial tonal improvements with the new part fitted." • VW Golf R (Mk7.5) 2.0 TSI (5G) (18-20) Turbo Back Performance Exhaust

Cobra Sport VW Golf R (Mk7.5) 2.0 TSI (5G) (18-20) Turbo Back Performance Exhaust

Fits Mk7.5 R without PPF filter only. Cobra Sport performance exhausts enhance the sound, looks and quality of your vehicle giving you the ultimate driving experience. Our sports exhausts range is fully guaranteed to give you assurance of our quality. This VW Golf R Mk7.5 performance exhaust is made in 3"/76.2mm pipework and fit from the turbo backwards (turbo-back system), these parts replace the front pipe, centre and rear sections. The de-cat exhaust version is sold for motorsport and off road use only worldwide. The sports catalyst version replaces a factory emissions device and is not EC homologated. This may not meet current emission laws for road use in your territory.  The resonated exhaust includes the centre silencer and has a subtle but sporty tone. This exhaust however, is also available as a non-resonated version which is a louder option as it excludes the centre silencer and therefore, has a sportier exhaust note. All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. Please Note: The 'Valved' exhaust retains the use of exhaust valves. When switching drive modes (e.g. Eco to Race mode) your exhaust tone will continue to swop from quieter to louder tones as before. The 'Non-Valved' exhaust removes the use of exhaust valves. When switching drive modes (e.g. Eco to Race mode) your exhaust tone will not change from quieter to louder as before. Using a Non-Valved exhaust will not harm the running of your vehicle, you will simply not have exhaust sound options, however the Cobra Sport exhaust has been designed with this in mind. Fitted images show the non-valved resonated version. Press Release The addition of a GPF Filter in later Mk7.5 models allows the Golf R to conform to the latest European Emissions Standards but as a trade off, it dilutes the vehicle's aural qualities, making for a performance car that doesn't quite have the bark to match it's bite. Cobra Sport have developed a solution for this in the form of their new GPF-Back Performance Exhaust System. Precision TIG-welded from T304 stainless steel, this new system is available with or without integrated valves. The valves are specially developed to integrate with the factory Driving Modes and open or close depending on the mode selected, so you can keep sound levels to a minimum or unleash the engine's full potential, depending on your mood. Regardless of what mode is selected, unwanted drone is thoroughly eliminated. In addition to this, vehicles fitted with the optional DSG gearbox will emit an enhanced sporty tone on upshifts. The GPF-Back system, as the name suggests, retains the factory Gasoline Particulate Filter, but still manages to effectively enhance the exhaust note of the vehicle's EA888 2.0 TSI engine. Matt Thomas, Sales Manager at Cobra Sport says "The Golf R MK7 exhaust system has completed the Research and Development program, and we have now collated the performance results. Having tested the resonated cat back exhaust system on the rolling road we saw an impressive +7.4bhp increase and are delighted that the turbo back system has produced even bigger gains. This turbo back system utilises the factory valve actuators/motors to give you the quiet factory sound when running in eco mode, in this mode the sound produced by the system is kept to a comfortable level. Having driven both the resonated & non-resonated cat back system on a daily basis, I found the non-resonated to be slightly uncomfortable at motorway speeds, and slightly on the louder side for normal road use, although, nowadays I would class myself as the more mature driver. The Cobra Sport system really improves the drivability of this car and takes it to the next level". Independent rolling road testing of the Golf MK7 resonated turbo back system with sports cat front pipe and aftermarket air intake revealed a +40.76bhp (30.4KW) power increase measured at all 4 wheels with the Golf R putting an impressive 270.61bhp (201.8KW) through the rollers. This testing was undertaken by a dealer in Australia in temperatures of 29.3 degrees celsius and an air density of 93.6%. A substantial weight saving can also be achieved with the 3" turbo back system providing a whopping 35% decrease in weight from the Original Equipment version. The styling of the system is finished off with either quad 5" x 3" oval slash-cut tailpipes in stainless steel finish or the upgraded ceramic coated versions. Press Release The Golf R has been a long time favourite amongst hot hatch fans. When Volkswagen launched the eight generation Golf R in 2021, they invested countless hours to make sure that the updated version of their iconic hot hatch is improved in every conceivable way. What VW did was take their proven EA888, 2.0 litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine and increase the firepower. The result is 316BHP, which fires the Golf R from a standstill to 62 MPH in just 4.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 155 MPH. The Golf R (Mk8) is a tuners dream thanks to its capable chassis, excellent all-wheel drive system and horsepower hungry turbocharged engine. Cobra Sport have enjoyed enormous success with the previous Golf R (Mk7). Aiming to replicate this success with the Golf R (Mk8), Cobra Sport are proud to announce their latest product range for the ultimate Golf. Over the past few months, their research and development team have been hard at work developing an extensive range of performance exhaust systems including GPF Backs, Downpipes and Turbo-Back performance exhausts, that will cater to the needs of any fast VW enthusiast. New to the range is Cobra Sport's Race GPF Back performance exhaust, featuring a rear silencer with a frequency enhancing chamber. This unique design offers the biggest sound increase whilst keeping the standard GPF and catalyst in place (+5.9dB in Race GPF Back configuration). The turbo back system has been designed with a 4.5in/114.3mm 200 cell high flow sports catalyst and is true 3in/76.2mm pipework throughout with no pinch points or reductions. After extensive flow modelling, the decision was made to include a section of 3.5in/88.9mm pipework from the turbo flange to minimise back pressure from the turbo, maximising flow rates directly from the turbo, further aiding tuning potential. Taking the style upgrade a stage further is Cobra Sport's all-new TP115 4" slash cut carbon fibre tailpipes, which gives the Golf R a sporty and aggressive look making the Golf R stand out from the crowd.  Media Static Sound Example - Valved Race GPF Back (Non Resonated) Performance Exhaust (Drive mode: Race) Example of Valved Turbo Back – TR Hamza VW Golf R (Mk8) Cobra Sport Exhausts VW promotional video. After extensive flow modelling, the decision was made to include a section of 3.5in/88.9mm pipework from the turbo, further aiding tuning potential. Taking the style upgrade a stage further is turbo flange to minimise back pressure from the turbo, maximising flow rates directly from the Cobra Sport's all-new TP115 4" slash cut carbon fibre tailpipes, which gives the Golf R a sporty and aggressive look making the Golf R stand out from the crowd.
