The knob is a direct replacement, this simply has a twist clip which clips straight on once the OEM knob is removed! The gator requires attachment to the plastic trim found in your car (Existing gator is usually stapled to it!)   You can use staples, glue, needle and thread or other methods to attach the new gator to your existing plastic trim.
