Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’ve created a comprehensive solution to replacing the OEM oil filter housing cap that’s originally made in plastic and is known to become brittle and fail over time. It also improves aesthetics within the engine bay and is easier to remove and replace, as it doesn’t require the special BMW tool the original does. Machined from billet aluminium, the cap features intricate detailing and an engraved AIRTEC Motorsport logo and wording, with a high quality anodised grey finish. After trying and testing several designs to ensure it was simple yet effective, the result is an adjustable wing kit that is easy to fit and allows the boot to open as usual, whilst offering improvements to both the stability on road and track, as well as to the look of the car overall. Using our proven aero foil blade design, the comprehensive kit includes laser cut brackets and a choice of end plates that are finished in a high-quality gloss black or gloss red powder coat (please note, the shade of red is not identical to the OEM Mini Chilli Red, but is similar). Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’ve created a comprehensive solution to improving the car’s oil cooling ability for modified Mk4 ST owners who struggle to maintain steady oil temperatures on track, or during fast road use. With vast experience in developing uprated oil cooler packages for a variety of modified track and road cars, the challenge with this kit was to integrate a large capacity, external oil cooler neatly behind the upper grille area without obstructing the air intakes. As a result, our design includes a designated scoop on the left-hand side that supports the oil cooler and channels cold air towards the intakes. During the development of our AIRTEC Motorsport enclosed air box and oil cooler kits, we created an additional comprehensive solution to further improving the car’s cooling ability and reduce air intake temperatures on track or during fast road use. With vast experience in developing uprated cooling packages for a variety of modified track and road cars, the challenge with the Mk8 Fiesta ST was the very limited available space directly behind the open grille area. As a result, we developed an innovative air guide solution to help direct larger volumes of cold air towards the original top air intake feed. The size of the air guides are not only larger than standard but the guide also features a side air duct, utilising the space in the upper right-hand section of the grille area to feed cold air through trunking to either the Enclosed Induction Kit or our soon to be released AIRTEC Motorsport Oil Cooler Kit. Made from aluminium, the kit includes all fixtures and fittings, including instructions, for a simple bolt-on installation. The kit is designed to integrate seamlessly with the car’s existing features and requires no drilling or cutting, so is completely reversible if need be. Its improved cooling efficiency and easy fitment makes it an essential modification for all modified Mk8 ST models. Why do I need a catch can?The original oil breather set up can cause issues with carbon build-up inside the engine’s intake system over time. It forms an oily sludge that covers parts of the intake and inlet valves, which reduces air flow and therefore performance. Once the build-up has formed, it’s a costly process to clean, so it makes sense to take preventative measures in order to avoid carbon build-up forming. A catch can works as a filter to catch harmful contaminants before they can reach the inlet system.
