The timing belt is to be changed as part of your maintenance schedule, commonly around 75,000 miles or 7 years, whichever occurs first. With years and miles of use, the belt will start to crack, wear and stretch, and if left for too long you risk the chance of the belt snapping, causing serious damage to your cylinder head.
This blue kevlar timing belt from Gates Performance is constructed of HNBR elastomeric composites. That being said, they are 300% stronger than the OE belt & deliver up to three times the heat resistance. Don't take any chances with your engine, replace your timing belt today!
Other Timing components, such as the damper, tensioning roller and relay rollers should also be replaced with the timing belt. Check out the rest of the timing section for anything else you may need as well as ECS Tuning's Timing Belt Service Kits.
