The conclusion was that although the stock system was obviously going to be slightly more restrictive over a system with no Catalytic convertor and GPF, the actual peak number gains seen on the dyno showed less than a 4% gain through a limited part of the rev range. During the rest of the rev range, the results were very similar.  There is a much more significant restriction closer to the engine; a combination of integral manifold/port/turbine design.  All Revo Stage 2 GPF software is specifically designed for a Stock downpipe and GPF. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at its thickest, producing higher oil pressure when pumped around the engine putting extra pressure on oil seals. As the engine temperature increases, so do oil temperatures. This thins the oil, enabling it to run more freely and better lubricate the moving parts of your engine. Cold Start Protection helps protect engine components by limiting turbo boost based on RPM and oil temperature until it reaches the 80ºC optimum operating level.  TEMPERATURE PROTECTION Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) are also monitored, adapting the operating conditions (Air Fuel Ratio) to ensure they stay within safe parameters. The conclusion was that although the stock system was obviously going to be slightly more restrictive over a system with no Catalytic convertor and GPF, the actual peak number gains seen on the dyno showed less than a 4% gain through a limited part of the rev range. During the rest of the rev range, the results were very similar.  There is a much more significant restriction closer to the engine; a combination of integral manifold/port/turbine design.  All Revo Stage 2 GPF software is specifically designed for a Stock downpipe and GPF. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at its thickest, producing higher oil pressure when pumped around the engine putting extra pressure on oil seals. As the engine temperature increases, so do oil temperatures. This thins the oil, enabling it to run more freely and better lubricate the moving parts of your engine. The grill shutters parameters have been enhanced to allow the shutters to open sooner and increase the airflow over the intercooler. The radiator fan routine has been changed to allow it to run faster when required, helping control coolant temperatures. The oil setpoint temperature has been lowered to aid in maintaining lower temps. Engine coolant temperature protection is enabled earlier to add robustness. EXHAUST The ST already comes with exhaust overrun. This has been enhanced by Revo offering increased acoustics both in sports and track modes at lower RPM and throttle position than Stage 1. LEFT FOOT BRAKING Left foot braking has been enabled on this vehicle. SPEED LIMIT The top speed limit for this vehicle has been removed. The consensus is that the GPF not only mutes but limits the engine power, Revo ECU calibration might offer a reason to dispute that.  Enhancing the vehicle with Revo ECU Software gives you much more than just an increase in power and torque. A large part of development is based on drive cycle and driver feedback.  Our calibration doesn’t just give a great dyno curve and peak power/torque figures but also delivers in feel; giving a smoother yet more responsive feel at low RPM/ partial throttle. Our Stage 2 GPF software retains the stock downpipe, factory catalytic convertor and GPF 3, although we did upgrade the GPF back section on our own ST development vehicle to give more exhaust acoustics.   Whilst we are not supporting GPF removal, over months of extensive development, we tested all variations of exhaust setups to determine the effects and restrictions of the stock downpipe and GPF. Although an exhaust system with no Catalytic convertor or GPF is always going to be slightly less restrictive than a stock system, we saw less than a 4% difference through a limited part of the rev range with little change elsewhere. There is a much more significant restriction closer to the engine; a combination of the integral manifold/port/turbine design.  All Revo Stage 2 GPF software is specifically designed for a Stock downpipe and GPF. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at its thickest, producing higher oil pressure when pumped around the engine putting extra pressure on oil seals. As the engine temperature increases, so do oil temperatures. This thins the oil, enabling it to run more freely and better lubricate the moving parts of your engine. Cold Start Protection helps protect engine components by limiting turbo boost based on RPM and oil temperature until it reaches the 80ºC optimum operating level.  TEMPERATURE PROTECTION Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) are also monitored, adapting the operating conditions (Air Fuel Ratio) to ensure they stay within safe parameters.
