As part of our expanding Fiesta Mk8 ST product range, AIRTEC Motorsport are proud to launch our enlarged hot side suitable for track or fast road use. A direct replacement part that gives increases in response and sound by eliminating the internal sound suppressors built into the original boost pipe from the turbo. Ford fit these suppressors to reduce noise and resonation but by replacing the pipe for one without the baffled internals, flow and internal capacity is improved, as well as noise. This increases throttle response and heightens the soundtrack from within the car. Made from high quality aluminium, the pipe also offers a 43% increase in size, maintaining a constant 57mm internal diameter throughout, compared to the 40mm of the standard item, and features a design with less bends and restrictions. It also features a powder-coated black finish for a subtle OEM+ look. The comprehensive package includes a Pro Hoses silicone connector and all fixtures and fittings, which makes installation a simple task. Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’ve created a comprehensive solution to improving the car’s original pipework to allow more flow and capacity whilst reducing restriction and improving response. Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’ve created a comprehensive solution to improving the car’s original pipework to allow more flow and capacity whilst reducing restriction and improving response. The comprehensive 11-piece kit features three pipes constructed from lightweight aluminium for improved strength so they will not fail with higher boost pressure, six Pro Hoses silicone joiners as well as two CNC-machined connectors to make fitting as simplistic as possible. On the hot side coming from the turbo, the original pipework is 55mm and features an indented section which restricts flow, where as our enlarged replacement kit features a 60mm internal diameter from start to finish with no restrictions. For the cold side to the throttle body, the original pipework begins at 55mm and tapers to 63mm in diameter, but out replacement features a 63mm internal diameter throughout, increasing both flow and capacity. The AIRTEC big boost pipe kit is designed as a direct replacement of the OEM parts, eliminating restrictions found on the stock charge pipe while allowing enough clearance from engine parts, increasing performance in the process. We have designed the kit using 63mm hot-side pipework to keep air speed high and reduce the effects of turbo lag on big power cars. For the cold-side pipework this increases to a massive 70mm to ensure maximum air flow and volume is achieved at the throttle body to maximise performance. In order to ensure there is no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving, we have developed a larger, freer-flowing intercooler that is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM item. Our solution to increasing the intercooler’s size and performance within the confines of the limited space behind the bumper is based upon a core wide and short core with a huge 125mm depth. This offers a massive 140% increase in overall capacity in comparison to the original intercooler, as well as a significant increase in frontal area over standard, which allows it to make the most of the air flow provided. The inlet side of the intercooler increases from 50mm diameter to 63mm, whilst the outlet increases from 55mm to 70mm to further improve flow. The original oval connectors with O-ring seals have also been re-designed to feature simpler and less restrictive silicone connectors. Together with our high-flow, moulded one-piece cast end tanks and an internal air diverter to ensure flow is directed correctly and efficiently, the AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler offers much greater efficiency and volume over standard. TESTED ON TRACK Following an extensive development process our intercooler has been tried, tested and logged on the road and race track. Our comprehensive testing highlighted the intercooler’s improved design to cater with long periods of hard use, as seen by the inlet temperature’s consistently low results and improved recovery times in comparison to the OEM intercooler. Despite this improvement, the kit fits neatly behind the original bumper and requires no trimming or cutting, and can be reverted back to standard with no issues. The comprehensive fitting kit includes all the correct fixtures and fittings, step-by-step instructions with pictures and Pro-Hoses silicone connectors.
