The IssueThe original undertray on these cars is made from plastic and features a large opening to allow air to cool the engine’s oil cooler, which is mounted close to the floor. However, due to the oil cooler’s low-level placement and lack of protection from road debris that may flick up, it is left open and exposed to damage, which could cause imminent engine failure. The SolutionOur solution to creating a direct replacement undertray in aluminium began with a full 3D scan of the vehicle’s underside to ensure a perfect fitment that reuses all original mounting points. As a result, it requires no drilling or cutting and is completely reversible if required. It also retains the original BMW rubber bumper trim.
