GFB GFB VTA - BLOW OFF VALVE T9458 (FORD / PEUGEOT)
If you want sound with your performance (or performance with your sound!), GFB’s VTA delivers just that! By combining the proven performance benefits of our ground-breaking DV+ with atmosphere venting, the VTA delivers an aggressive blow-off sound, improved throttle response and boost recovery, as well as superior boost holding and reliability in extreme conditions. The VTA shares the successful DV+ design philosophy: “Keep what works, replace what doesn’t” This means we retain ECU control and the solenoid from the factory diverter to ensure the fastest possible response time, without the added and unnecessary cost of replacing the solenoid like some brands do. The weak part of the factory diverter has always been the plastic valve mechanism – this is the part we replace. The VTA features CNC machined billet components that last a lifetime, and we also change the valve operation method for better performance. The factory diverter valve can only operate in two states – open, or closed. When it opens fully at low boost, or during a partial throttle lift mid-corner, it causes increased lag and a noticeably non-linear boost transition. GFB pioneered the use of “pilot operation” in the DV+, which works by re-purposing the factory solenoid to control the pressure behind the piston rather than the piston itself. This allows the solenoid stroke to be much shorter, speeding up the response time and increasing the actuation force. More importantly, it allows the piston to open and close progressively in response to the amount of boost pressure present, which smooths boost transitions and reduces the lag caused by the factory diverter valve. It is this design philosophy that makes the VTA not only the best performing blow off valve solution, but also the best value on the market. Depends if you want sound or not. Both valves are constructed with the same quality materials and valve mechanism, and both offer the same performance and reliability benefits. However, the VTA vents to atmosphere for sound whilst the DV+ recirculates the air to keep it quiet. Why choose a VTA over a “BOV spacer”? “BOV spacers” are cheap and they make sound. But that’s it. All the inherent performance and reliability issues you get with the factory diverter valve remain, because a spacer doesn’t change the diverter valve in any way. The VTA improves the operation of the diverter valve for sound AND performance. Why choose a VTA over a kit that includes a solenoid? Because there’s no performance benefit to replacing the factory solenoid, only a much higher price! If a VTA with the factory solenoid can open in a couple of hundredths of a second, why pay more than you need to? In 1999, GFB’s first Hybrid valve pioneered the dual port design, which was so successful the technology has since been adopted by most other brands. By “staging” the two venting outlets, at low valve lifts most of the air is recirculated. As the car is driven harder, the valve opens further and more of the atmosphere venting port is exposed for a louder sound. Competitors' products for the same vehicles that make sound (i.e. BOV "Spacers") typically retain the performance deficiencies of the factory diverter valve, delete the ECU control, or require frequent maintenance and rebuilds. The VTA on the other hand is the complete package - performance, fit, reliability, and sound! Like the DV+, GFB’s VTA range of BOVs utilise GFB’s proven TMS Technology to ensure rapid boost recovery on gearshift and optimum throttle response, as well as superior boost holding. However, where the DV+ and the VTA range differ is what they do with the vented air. VTA BOVs vent to atmosphere to make the signature turbo blow-off sound, where the DV+ recirculates the air to keep it quiet. Each valve in the VTA range is designed specifically for the applications we list them for, ensuring the best fit and performance. Most of the VTA range are designed for use on cars with solenoid type factory diverter valves, and in those cases the VTA kit will retain the solenoid and ECU control. Like the DV+ though, it replaces the weak factory valve internals to ensure strength and reliability, especially in high boost applications. Other versions of the VTA are designed for use on cars that do not have any kind of factory fitted diverter valve. Vehicle manufacturers have deleted the troublesome solenoid type diverter valve from some of the newer models, but this leads to turbo compressor surge which can be taxing on the turbo in the long run. The VTA valves for these cars are designed to re-introduce the function of a diverter/blow-off valve to help protect the turbo in the long term and provide a blow-off sound.

GFB GFB 3005 G-FORCE III ELECTRONIC BOOST CONTROLLER
The latest iteration of GFB’s feature-packed electronic boost controller now has the ability to monitor and display your engine’s air/fuel ratio in either Lambda or AFR. By connecting the analogue output of most wideband O2 controllers (i.e. Innovate LC-2, AEM UEGO etc, sold separately) to the G-Force III’s auxiliary input, you can toggle between boost pressure and air/fuel ratio display. Not only does this save you from having to install a separate AFR gauge in your car, it can also save your engine! A lean mixture at high boost can destroy an engine in seconds, and a stand-alone AFR gauge is next to useless when accelerating hard as your concentration is likely to be (and should be!) on the road in front of you. The G-Force III safeguards your engine against a lean mixture by lowering boost to the minimum setting, and visibly warning you by flashing the display lighting. Whether your car is a daily driver or an all-out track weapon, the G-Force III has the features to tailor boost to suit your needs. Set up to 6 boost presets and select on the fly, use the scramble feature for overtaking, launching, towing, or protecting the engine, and you can even customize the lighting colour to suit your interior! No other EBC on the market offers the features, control, ease of use, and value for money like the G-Force III! Boost control begins with a massive 50psi (3.5BAR) capability, and the 6 individually configurable presets allow for enough settings to suit all driving conditions. Presets can be selected at the press of a button or triggered remotely, and for each preset it is possible to tune the peak boost, boost rise rate, and the strength of the closed loop correction. This means you can change how much boost you have, how fast the boost comes on, and how hard the controller will correct for boost variations. Our unique “scramble” feature allows you to jump to a dedicated boost preset for a user-adjustable amount of time, and can be activated on the screen or remotely using any kind of switch, button, or programmable ECU output. The uses for this feature are limited only by your imagination – you can raise or lower boost based on time, a manual button or switch, or trigger automatically based on engine conditions. For example, use a toggle switch for high/low boost, steering wheel/gearshift button for push-to-pass, use the timer for launch control, or drop boost pressure if your oil/water temperature is high or the water/meth system runs dry. An important point of difference with GFB’s EBCs is the simple and intuitive user interface. By using capacitive touch buttons, scrolling text, and a logical menu layout, you’ll find our EBCs are a pleasure to use. You can even choose your preferred boost units and customize the button lighting colour to match your car’s dash! VNT/VGT turbos are typically found on late-model diesel engines (rarely used on petrol engines), and often the actuator can look similar to a wastegate actuator. If you want sound with your performance (or performance with your sound!), GFB’s VTA delivers just that! By combining the proven performance benefits of our ground-breaking DV+ with atmosphere venting, the VTA delivers an aggressive blow-off sound, improved throttle response and boost recovery, as well as superior boost holding and reliability in extreme conditions. The factory diverter valve found on these cars has two distinct issues – reliability, and performance. Oh yeah, it also doesn’t make any noise! Here’s how the VTA addresses these problems. Reliability – There are two ways in which the factory diverter valve can fail; the un-reinforced rubber diaphragm can rupture, and the metal valve stem that slides in the plastic cap can stick. In both cases, there is a risk to the turbocharger, as the ECU will attempt to compensate for a boost leak by increasing the wastegate duty cycle, which increases the turbo RPM significantly. The VTA features CNC machined billet components that last a lifetime and cannot be damaged by high boost pressures or the associated increased charge temperatures. Performance – The factory diverter valve typically operates in only two states – either fully open, or fully closed. When it opens at low boost, or during a partial throttle lift mid-corner, it causes increased lag and a noticeably non-linear boost transition, which is noticeable as a distinct “step” down in power as you roll off the throttle and the valve opens. The VTA however allows the piston to open and close progressively in response to the amount of boost pressure present, so it only vents enough air to prevent compressor surge (the primary purpose of a diverter or blow off valve). This helps to smooth out boost transitions, making the throttle response more linear and predictable, and also minimizes lag introduced by the factory diverter valve. Sound – The VTA, as its name suggests, vents the air to atmosphere for maximum “whoosh” noise when you lift off the throttle. On the Focus RS, there is no MAF sensor and hence no drivability or fuelling issues when venting to atmosphere. VTA or DV+?Depends if you want sound or not. Both valves are constructed with the same quality materials and valve mechanism, and both offer the same performance and reliability benefits. However, the VTA vents to atmosphere for sound whilst the DV+ recirculates the air to keep it quiet. Why choose a VTA over a “BOV spacer”?“BOV spacers” are cheap and they make sound. But that’s it. All the inherent performance and reliability issues you get with the factory diverter valve remain, because a spacer doesn’t change the factory diverter components or operation method in any way. designed to improve boost control Suits WRX STI 1999-2021 The WGA is a high-performance bolt-on internal wastegate actuator designed to bring boost on sooner and hold it longer! The WGA is all about increasing the “area under the boost curve”. With a larger diaphragm than the OEM actuator, the WGA has more “control authority” over the wastegate flap. This makes it harder for exhaust backpressure to blow the wastegate open during spool up and at high RPM, two areas of the boost curve where the factory actuator can be overwhelmed. This benefit is particularly useful with Subaru’s factory “2-port” boost control system, which cannot effectively shut off pressure to the wastegate during spool up. Supplied with 3 springs and a unique turnbuckle pre-load adjustment, the base boost pressure can be configured and adjusted from 5psi to 24psi for the best possible boost control. Read on for more technical information on wastegate springs, and how the correct spring selection can improve performance. The WGA features a longer stroke, shorter height, and more adjustment than its rivals. WGA part # 7305 is designed to bolt on to Subaru WRX STI models from MY99-21 and will also fit most single-scroll IHI VF turbos. The 5psi and 10psi springs are installed for a base pressure of 15psi, and the 7psi spring is included in the packaging for further tuning options. Please note that whilst this is a physical “bolt-on” product, it should be considered a tuning tool as it WILL increase boost pressure and therefore TUNING IS REQUIRED.

It is specifically designed as a complete replacement for the newer generation of Continental brand OEM diverter valves found in late-model VW and Audi vehicles. Unlike the earlier generation diverter valves manufactured by Pierburg, the newer Continental valves cannot be disassembled and integrated into a DV+. However, venting to atmosphere gives it the signature blow-off sound, whilst the DV+ keeps things quiet. Competitors' products for the same vehicles that make sound (i.e. BOV "Spacers") typically retain the performance deficiencies of the factory diverter valve, delete the ECU control, or require frequent maintenance and rebuilds. The VTA on the other hand is the complete package - performance, fit, reliability, and sound! Like the DV+, GFB’s VTA range of BOVs utilise GFB’s proven TMS Technology to ensure rapid boost recovery on gearshift and optimum throttle response, as well as superior boost holding. However, where the DV+ and the VTA range differ is what they do with the vented air. VTA BOVs vent to atmosphere to make the signature turbo blow-off sound, where the DV+ recirculates the air to keep it quiet. Each valve in the VTA range is designed specifically for the applications we list them for, ensuring the best fit and performance. Most of the VTA range are designed for use on cars with solenoid type factory diverter valves, and in those cases the VTA kit will retain the solenoid and ECU control. Like the DV+ though, it replaces the weak factory valve internals to ensure strength and reliability, especially in high boost applications. Other versions of the VTA are designed for use on cars that do not have any kind of factory fitted diverter valve. Vehicle manufacturers have deleted the troublesome solenoid type diverter valve from some of the newer models, but this leads to turbo compressor surge which can be taxing on the turbo in the long run. The VTA valves for these cars are designed to re-introduce the function of a diverter/blow-off valve to help protect the turbo in the long term and provide a blow-off sound.
