The RacingLine Turbo Inlet System for the 245PS & 207PS MQB 'EVO' cars such as Golf 8 GTI is a matched package of our much larger diameter, free flowing Turbo 90 Inlet paired with reinforced Silicone Turbo Inlet Hose for much higher airflow between intake and turbo. The factory inlet forces the airflow to pass through the restrictive plastic 'bellows' pipe, before tapering right down to run through a tight and restrictive plastic turbo inlet - in other words, terrible for flow. The RacingLine Turbo Inlet System replaces this pipework with a larger diameter smooth-flowing silicon hose mated to a larger diameter thin-wall free flowing intake elbow. The internal diameter of the Turbo 90 Inlet is massively increased from 62.5mm on the factory part right up to 76mm. It's by combining the two parts of the kit that's allowed us to enlarge the diameter of both the Inlet and the Hose so much - and so give the maximum possible gains. Put simply, without it, you’re wasting much of the potential of your high-flow intake system without fitting this Turbo Inlet System. An essential upgrade! TWO PIECE KIT It's only by combining both elements of this kit that we've been able to increase the diameter so significantly (+13.5mm) to release the true airflow gains. This helps to aid the engines performance and air flow in several ways. Designed in a similar way to a conventional velocity stack, it routes the air more directly into your turbo charger and allows more air than the stock inlet tract to be compressed due to its larger capacity. This can have a positive effect on accelerating your vehicle after long deceleration or between gear changes as more air is being kept within the intake system. The Forge developed inlet tract has more than a 50% increase in volume with the area at the mouth of the turbo increased to 46%. This, combined with no internal baffles or noise restrictors gives a helping hand to the vehicles acoustic notes and throttle response. With the use of Solidworks®, our CAD engineers have designed the heat shroud to fit round all the contours of the engine bay. This shroud combined with our specially formulated thermal coatings protects the intake from radiant heat while also guiding the cold air from the OE cold air ducting to the filter and housing. All of the billet components supplied have been made from 6082 Alloy and then anodised to ensure the alloy has no fatigue and stays without corrosion for years to come. This kit completed with stainless steel high quality hose clamps has the usual unrivaled performance you would expect from Forge Motorsport. During testing we have achieved gains of up to 11bhp and 13lb/ft throughout the rev range from 2900 RPM. When installed in conjunction with an engine remap and free flowing exhaust the figure can be far greater as the OEM intake system is restricted on high performance engines. Racingline Filter Oil & Cleaning Kit The Racingline Oil and Cleaner Kit will help you keep your filter in peak condition at all times and ensure that the complex triple-layer foam continues to deliver its power and filtration benefits for many years. Instructions are provided for cleaning and maintenance. It’s a simple process, but please take time to read through, or ensure that your technician reads them, before you begin. We would suggest that you keep these notes with your car for future maintenance/owners. We recommend that the filter element is cleaned and reoiled every 10,000 miles/16,000 km, and/or a visual inspection at least every 12 months. This is a simple procedure, and will ensure that your filter continues to deliver the power improvements over a standard car. If your car is regularly used in a dry/dusty environment, we advise that you clean and re-oil your filter more regularly If you don’t clean your filter at the above intervals, no loss of filtration will occur, and your engine will still be fully protected. However, the performance advantages from the additional air flow of a clean filter will be lost. You will also shorten the life of the filter element. REPLACEMENT FILTER Like all the other filters on your car, it’s worth replacing the air filter element itself periodically. Rather than cleaning and re-oiling, lots of customers prefer to simply replace their filter element for what is a relatively low cost. We recommend replacement after 2 years for optimum performance. Of course, the filter will last for a longer period of time with correct maintenance and inspection for condition of foam as laid out below. With the highly successful FMINDK30 and FMINDK39 induction kits for the previous generation 1.0 TSI VAG vehicles there has been a large demand for Forge Motorsport to develop an improved air intake system for the latest VAG power unit. As with all manufacturers in recent times, the need to make smaller capacity engines more powerful with better efficiency has been their top priority. To achieve these goals, the OEM design engineers must maximise the space to its fullest, which in turn creates more of a challenge for the aftermarket manufacturers and tuners to improve what is already fitted to the vehicle. Nonetheless, this has not stopped us at Forge Motorsport! Even with plenty of expertise from past developments with the previous small capacity VAG engines, this new power unit needed an extensive amount of testing time to ensure we produced a product that provided genuine improvements over the standard air box. The CAD designed, laser cut, and precision folded heat shield is designed to form a barrier between the air inlet tract and radiant heat from the engine. It also helps duct the cold air to the air filter, to preserve low intake temperatures, which in-turn creates more power. Finished in our black textured powder coating, this creates a product with an OEM look and quality. This kit is offered with our Forge high flow, pleated, synthetic nanofiber filtration filter, which has been manufactured for optimum size and fit to the available space giving superior flow and filtration with enhanced breathing for the 1.0 turbo charged engine. Alternatively, there is our foam filter option available soon that has been exclusively manufactured by Pipercross. During dyno testing we tried several filter options and we found that neither filter excelled over the other with results being almost identical throughout the rev range. Both the filters offered can be oiled by the end user to prevent fine dust commonly found in hot climates from entering the inlet tract. Testing was completed using Performance Remap in Gloucester with their VTEC 4 wheel drive dynamometer. This was to ensure all our data has been achieved with results as accurately as possible by an independent tuner. The dyno graph below shows torque gains at 2600RPM all the way to redline, with a gain of nearly 10NM from between 3000RPM and 3500RPM. This gain is very beneficial as it is consistently higher than stock from turbo spool up through to full boost, resulting in noticeably sharper acceleration and a more exhilarating experience for the driver, as typically this is where true power gains can be felt when behind the wheel. The APR Open PEX intake system is the best price/performance intake system on the market and has already been installed thousands of times in vehicles.The sound and performance of the engine were significantly increased and the restrictive area in the intake tract was eliminated. This made it possible to reduce the pressure loss and increase the efficiency of the turbocharger while doing the same work. This results in more power and torque while reducing load. The system uses a washable 7-inch and very high quality conical cotton filter that has a 4-inch connection.This was also necessary to reduce the standard pressure drop and maximize the airflow while also significantly increasing the sound aspect. The PEX material conducts heat very poorly, which also benefits the system and therefore ideally contributes to increasing performance.The PEX material still gives the engine compartment a touch of stock component, as far as you can say for an open air filter. The material also offers the advantage that almost any design can be realized. AIRTEC Part No: ATIKVAG7 TECHNICAL DATA As part of our expanding VW and Audi product ranges, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our induction kit upgrade aimed at modified EA888 Gen 4 owners who want to improve the performance of their car with a simple, bolt-on modification for track or fast road use. This freer-flowing induction kit replaces the car’s original air box and restrictive intake set up. It features our large cotton cone filter, a replacement aluminium intake pipe and new air box enclosure to significantly improve the car’s breathing by increasing the amount of cold air it can take in, therefore offering increases power, performance and sound. The filter is protected from warm air within the engine bay by a laser cut heat shield and the air box is force fed fresh air from the replacement guide, which utilises both of the front grille air intakes. The air box’s slotted lid helps to provide a heightened induction noise and the comprehensive fitting kit also includes a replacement Pro Hoses silicone coolant pipe that redirects underneath the air box to allow more space. The kit fits neatly in place of the original to improve the look of the engine bay and comes with all fixtures, fittings and instructions for a direct, bolt-on installation.
