Following on from the success of our billet catch can kit for the Golf Mk5 and Golf Mk6, we are pleased to present another of our latest kits for the Golf Mk7R and Audi S3. In house testing has proven our oil catch can kit's ability to effectively reduce sludge and carbon build up, allowing the Golf Mk7R and Audi S3 engine to both breathe and perform more efficiently. It can therefore be viewed as a genuine performance enhancing product and one we recommend to any owner to seriously consider, particularly if they are planning more advanced power tuning later. The 0.4l (400cc) catch tank boasts a slew of features intended to make it both easy to check and simple to drain. Included is a dipstick for level inspection and a well-placed drain tap. Throughout the development of this product the design has been carefully considered, hence its inner tube which is constructed from anti-static smooth fuel resistant nitrile rubber. This is paired with an outer cover made from reinforced stainless-steel wire braid (a Forge specialty), specifically a partial inner braid and a full cover outer braid. We developed this complex arrangement for the tank to be resistant to both pressure expansion and vacuum collapse, and to enable the kit to function within a clearly defined temperature range -54°C to +150°C (-65°F to +300°F) The black external hose braiding and push fit fittings form an OEM-looking product when installed. REVO ENGINE MOUNTS More power results in more movement during aggressive acceleration. The stock engine mounts, designed to favour comfort over performance, fail to manage axle hop and torque effectively requiring you to ease off to gain traction. Designed to significantly reduce this engine movement, Revo engine mounts use Powerflex bushings to minimise noise, vibration and harshness levels (NVH) while drastically improving traction and acceleration. The engine, transmission and torque mounts have been CAD designed to offer OE quality fitment with the performance benefits and quality of a Revo product. KEY FEATURES Dramatically reduce engine movement Improved acceleration and torque Powerflex polyurethane bushings Comes with a removal tool for torque mount ENGINE & TRANSMISSION MOUNT The primary design goal of the engine and transmission mounts was to provide a management system for engine movement during vehicle operation with increased power/torque, to retain vehicle acceleration and tyre contact during aggressive driving. The aforementioned solution must also continue to dissipate the NVH naturally created by the drivetrain. To accomplish this, the bushing design of past Revo engine mounts was retained in the MQB engine and transmission mounts, allowing Revo engineers to focus their efforts on bushing stiffness/type to accomplish the task. TORQUE MOUNT Arguably the most vital engine mount upgrade to consider, testing highlighted that the engines stock lower torque mount allowed a substantial amount of engine movement to occur. Although some improvements were noted during testing of an insert style upgrade designed to stiffen the standard mount, there was a significant increase in NVH felt in the cabin. This was dramatically reduced when completely replaced with the Revo polyurethane torque mount and also improved acceleration. Fitting the mount does not require the sub-frame to be removed, reducing installation time and the need for axle re-alignment. A Revo installation tool is included to make removal of the OEM mount and installation of the replacement as quick and easy as possible. MATERIALS, MANUFACTURING & FITMENT Effective design and fitment play a principal role in managing engine movement to ensure optimal acceleration and tyre contact with the road while dissipating NVH experienced from the drivetrain. Each component has been designed using CAD technology to ensure precise fitment and is supplied with class 12.9 hardware to replace the standard fixings. To ensure optimum strength and durability, brackets and housings are CNC machined from 6061-billet aluminium and finished with an anodised coating to protect from heat and corrosion. POWERFLEX BUSHINGS Powerflex utilises a unique formula of polyurethane, custom-designed to ensure optimum fitment in the machined housings. After testing various amounts of compliance, our engineers were able to fine-tune the final bush to achieve a balance between performance and comfort. Polyurethane is also resistant to oil, fuel unlike the rubber used in the OEM mount which can lead to perishing and failure. Our specified durometers provide a stiffer mount to limit the engine movement without compromising on NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) levels in the process. OEM COMFORT, AFTERMARKET PERFORMANCE To achieve the optimal balance between performance and comfort, several different durometer bushings were tested on a Volkswagen Golf Mk7 GTI. Bushings were systematically tested at precise increments at each mount location. A 3-axis accelerometer was used to quantify the NVH levels being transmitted into the cabin, as well as the acceleration of the drivetrain during loading. Accelerometer data gave us a way to compare mount combinations against each other with a low data error percentage and to quantify driver comfort as well as engine movement. Supplemental data was taken from VCDS to ensure each test was standardised over a given throttle, RPM and speed range. The graph shows the amount of vibration measured whilst driving through the gears. Your cars air filter prevents airborne debris such as dust, leaves and other abrasives finding their way in to the engine's cylinders where it can mix with the lubricating oil and form an abrasive compound. This will cause wear to the cylinders, pistons and bearings causing permanent damage. Forge Motorsport is proud to release the latest version of our very popular solenoid driven valve for the 2013-on VAG 1.8 TSI engine (US codes CPKA and CPRA) and 2.0 TSI engine (Euro code CNTA, CHHA, CHHB, CJXB and CJXC;US codes CPLA and CPPA) including Golf MK7 R. This valve is a full replacement atmospheric blow-off valve (i.e. noisy) that integrates seamlessly with the OEM electronics and results in no detriment in performance, and absolutely NO fault codes or check engine lights, which isn’t something that can be said of our competition! Like our full replacement recirculating valve option, this valve is fully engineered to remedy the failure issues experienced with the OEM solenoid valves when their diaphragm may rupture which results in a boost leak. The later revision OEM valves have a longer lift but ultimately the plastic brittles and in extreme circumstances, parts of the plastic can break off. Our valve uses full billet alloy construction with a piston based internal design that provides for significantly improved reliability over the OEM valves along with lightning fast response. It has also been proven in cars running over 600bhp! This new valve has a very short overall installed height, which enables fitment of this atmospheric valve into the tight space between the turbo and the inlet hose from the airfilter, older larger valves and sandwich plates will not fit this engine. Your DSG gearbox is susceptible to overheating. And the higher your power, the harder you drive, the more important it is to protect it. Under hard driving, the factory DSG oil/water cooler is easily overwhelmed. Problems start to occur when oil cannot dissipate its collected heat fast enough and the oil begins to thin and degrade – losing its lubrication properties. When this happens, the DSG will protect itself and begin to lower the torque, increase shift times and in extreme circumstances even loose gear selection. The RacingLine kit solves this problem: by adding in an additional air/oil cooler positioned right in the airflow at the front of the car, oil temperatures are reduced by around 15 – 20 degrees centigrade (of course dependant on how the car is being used, ambient temps and state of tune). The kit uses a clever design which retains the factory oil/water cooling and adds to it with the thermostatically-controlled front-mounted cooler – doubling up your cooling capability when it’s needed with less heat transfer into the water system. Only when the oil exceeds normal temperatures, the thermostat opens. Oil temperature then drops significantly as it is pumped through the densely packed fins of the 10-row cooler’s large surface area mounted right in the cool airflow. POWER GRAPHS ADDITIONAL FEATURES COLD START PROTECTION For engine oil to work effectively and lubricate your engine it needs time to warm up. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at its thickest, producing higher oil pressure when pumped around the engine putting extra pressure on oil seals. As the engine temperature increases, so does oil temperature. This thins the oil, enabling it to run more freely and better lubricate the moving parts of your engine. Cold Start Protection helps protect engine components by limiting turbo boost based on RPM and oil temperature until it reaches the 80ºC optimum operating level. TEMPERATURE PROTECTION Revo Temperature Protection is an additional safety feature that reduces overall load as the oil temperature passes a set limit. Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) are also monitored, adapting the operating conditions (Air Fuel Ratio) to ensure they stay within safe parameters. If EGT's reach a set upper limit, then power is automatically reduced until the engine returns to a safe operating temperature. ENHANCED TURBO CONTROL Revo Enhanced Turbine Control offers factory-like protection parameters to avoid over-boost and ensure turbine speeds do not exceed a safe level.
