Racingline Cup Edition Intake System VWR12G7CUP The VWR Cold-Air Intake System kit delivers cold fresh air from outside the engine bay straight to your engine via a large-diameter free-flowing intake pipe. The intake uses an oversize domed High-Flow TriFoam™ air filter designed to provide increased surface area and dust capacity. This extra surface area provides even more airflow with lower restriction, to ensure that the largest volumes of the coolest possible air is available to the engine at all times. This maximizes efficiency and improves driveability and torque throughout the rev range – turbocharger spool dropped nearly 500 RPMs, reducing turbo lag and creating faster turbo response. Racingline Open Cone Intake The intake uses a fully formed black powder-coated aluminum shield which separates the high flow triple-layer filter from the hot air of the engine bay.  The shield extends not only up to the underside of the hood/bonnet, but also underneath the filter unit ensuring the best possible separation of cold, fresh air from the heated air of the rest of the under-bonnet area. As a race-bred intake system, you can hear the rich induction noise as soon as you first accelerate hard.  With the increased airflow from this system, you will also not miss the sound of the diverter valve opening when you lift between gears. Most notable is the introduction of the GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) and the change to the single port injection system. Close monitoring of the GPF system has been an essential step in finding the limitations and tuning potential of the newer DNU* engines. The general consensus is that the GPF not only mutes but limits the engine power, Revo ECU calibration might be reason to dispute that. When you first start your car, the cold oil is at its thickest, producing higher oil pressure when pumped around the engine putting extra pressure on oil seals. As the engine temperature increases, so does oil temperature. This thins the oil, enabling it to run more freely and better lubricate the moving parts of your engine. Cold Start Protection helps protect engine components by limiting turbo boost based on RPM and oil temperature until it reaches the 80ºC optimum operating level. TEMPERATURE PROTECTION Revo Temperature Protection is an additional safety feature that reduces overall load as the oil temperature passes a set limit. Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT) are also monitored, adapting the operating conditions (Air Fuel Ratio) to ensure they stay within safe parameters. If EGT's reach a set upper limit, then power is automatically reduced until the engine returns to a safe operating temperature. ENHANCED TURBO CONTROL Revo Enhanced Turbine Control offers factory-like protection parameters to avoid over-boost and ensure turbine speeds do not exceed a safe level. GAUGE RECONFIGURATION The gauges on the centre console & instrument cluster have been reconfigured to display a true representation of the increased performance.
