Cold SideOur comprehensive eight-piece kit begins with a taper from the 40mm turbo outlet that increases by a huge 50% to reach 60mm as it meets the intercooler inlet side. This larger increase improves internal flow and allows fitment to our Stage 3 intercooler with 60mm inlet, making it ideal for cars fitted with hybrid turbos. Hot SideFrom the intercooler’s 60mm outlet side, the pipework tapers back down to meet the throttle body’s 49.5mm size, maintaining a 53mm minimum as it reaches the new cast aluminium throttle body elbow. In doing so, it offers up to a 39% increase in internal diameter during the most restrictive part of the OEM pipework (38mm) just before the throttle body elbow. This increased overall internal volume and improved design works to reduce restriction and improve flow from the turbo and to the inlet, providing an increase in power and response. Made from high quality aluminium, the kit includes a revised throttle body elbow, a series of high-quality silicone connectors and all pipework is finished in powder-coated black for a subtle OEM+ look. Our 2.5″ hard pipe upgrade removes Ford’s 2.0″ restrictive boost pipes. At last, we have now released a full 70mm cold side hose for the Focus RS MK2! This hose will fit either a standard throttle body or an aftermarket uprated 70mm throttle body, expanding up to 70mm though the rest of the hose to then connect to most brands of intercooler with 63mm outlet including the standard OEM intercooler. Please select the option below for the size you require. How it worksThe original elbow gradually tapers down from the 63mm induction pipe to just 48.5mm as it enters the turbo, despite the turbo’s inlet measuring 51mm in diameter. This causes an unnecessary restriction within the intake side that hampers flow and limits throttle response. Our AIRTEC Motorsport direct replacement elbow features a CNC-machined flange with a correctly matched 51mm diameter, therefore removing the stepped restriction. The high-quality silicone hose instantly tapers to meet the 63mm diameter intake, therefore allowing the maximum amount of internal flow with increases of nearly 10%. The elbow upgrade includes all fixtures and fittings, as well as detailed instructions. The increased volume and improved design works to reduce restriction and improve flow to the turbo, providing an increase in power and response.
