As part of our expanding Audi product range, AIRTEC Motorsport are proud to launch our cast turbo elbow for the RS3 8V kit for fast road or track use. The bottle neck of the 2.5 TFSI engine is the turbo elbow, which reduces down in diameter massively as it passes down behind the engine to the turbo. Our approach to improving this focused on making the very most of the available space and as a result, our in-house design engineer team were able to create an elbow design that is unrivalled on the market for it’s increase in diameter and improvement in flow. Featuring a 4″/102mm inlet, the elbow gently tapers down with no aggressive step to ensure optimum flow from start to finish with a substantially increased volume over standard. As a result, the AIRTEC Motorsport enlarged elbow measures a huge 8,171mm² at its widest cross-sectional measurement, compared to the original pipe’s 5,026mm² at its widest point, therefore offering a huge increase of 62.5%. On average, it’s 30% larger internally compared to the standard elbow, offering a huge increase in capacity. This improves throttle response and reduces restriction, which is key for those chasing increased power from their cars. A direct replacement part, the elbow is made from high-quality cast aluminium and has been designed to work with other our own AIRTEC Motorsport induction it (similar sized induction kits should also fit). To fit the right-hand drive models, an indentation has been introduced to allow clearance for the brake master cylinder. The elbow comes with detailed fitting instructions and is designed to work with both standard turbos and various types of hybrid turbos, thanks to a range of machined flanges (62.8mm and 65.7mm) that come with the kit. The comprehensive package also includes a Pro Hoses replacement silicone breather hose and vacuum line, a new O-ring and all fixtures and fittings required for installation. As part of our expanding BMW product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our enlarged turbo inlet upgrade for the S55 engine fitted with hybrid turbos. A direct replacement part that offers increases in performance and response, the enlarged turbo inlets feature a freer-flowing design with an increased internal diameter, which is essential when fitting hybrid turbos. How it works  The original elbows from the air boxes are made from plastic and gradually taper down from 80mm to just 54mm and then 41mm as they enter the turbos. Whilst this is adequate for standard turbo cars, when fitting hybrid turbos, which consume more air, the original elbows can cause an unnecessary restriction that hampers flow when pushing for more power. Our AIRTEC Motorsport direct replacement inlets have been designed in-house to feature pipework that very gently tapers to 64mm in diameter as they reach the turbo inlet, therefore removing the stepped restriction and allowing the maximum amount of internal flow, with increases of nearly 35% compared to standard. The elbow upgrade includes pipework for both front and rear turbos and includes all fixtures and fittings. With improved flow and increased strength over the original plastic items, our charge pipes link the turbos to the charge cooler and are suited to modified BMW M3, M4 and M2 Competition models for track or fast road use. The pipes have been designed to improve the overall internal dimeter and flow of the original OEM pipes, which flatten considerably where they pass over the top of the engine. The original OEM pipes are also made from a lightweight plastic, and with the increased boost pressures associated with a remap or hybrid turbos, the plastic seams can split and form a hairline crack. This is often invisible to the eye, but it’s an issue that will affect the engine’s performance and the turbos’ longevity. The AIRTEC Motorsport replacement pipes are constructed from alloy, so they will not fail with higher boost pressures and maintain a 57mm internal dimeter from the start to finish. Both pipes also feature a 1/8NPT port fitting suitable for a methanol injection set up, and the exterior of the pipes are finished in a subtle black powder coat. The kit features two silicone joiners as well as two CNC-machined connectors to house the original BMW O-rings, with adapters for the replacement fixtures and fittings that come as part of the kit. Fitting takes around 2 hours and the original engine cover can still be fitted in place, but for a perfect fit, we recommend enlarging the apertures slightly, which can be done neatly in order to retain the original look. Designed to directly replace the OEM pipe, this silicone hose offers increased flow and capacity. By reducing restriction within the induction system, air flow improves and potential power increases can be released. Made from high-quality silicone by Pro Hoses, the induction hose features a 59mm internal diameter, which is increase of 13.5% compared to the original 52mm dimeter. The pipe incorporates a 85mm CNC machined adaptor to match either the standard pipe or induction kit. It also comes with CNC machined PVC take off, which will not go brittle and potentially snap like OEM plastic one. This hose is carefully engineered to be a direct replacement item, which ensures a simple DIY installation process. A direct replacement that offers increases in performance and response, our enlarged cold side boost pipe kit replaces the hoses from the intercooler to the throttle body with a freer-flowing design that offers increased internal capacity. The original hose is 53mm in diameter and follows a series of relatively tight bends. We developed an enlarged hose kit that measures 63mm from beginning to end, offering a significant internal capacity increase of 19%. It also features fewer tight bends to further reduce restriction and improve flow, providing an increase in power and response. Made from high quality aluminium, the kit includes our own 63mm throttle body flange, Pro Hoses silicone connectors and all pipework is finished in powder-coated black for a subtle OEM+ look. As part of our expanding VAG product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our enlarged turbo inlet elbow upgrade for the MQB Evo engine (300-320ps), suitable for track or fast road use. Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we’ve created a comprehensive solution to improving the car’s original pipework to allow more flow and capacity whilst reducing restriction and improving response. The comprehensive 8-piece kit features three pipes constructed from lightweight aluminium for improved strength so they will not fail with higher boost pressure as well as five Pro Hoses silicone joiners/hoses to make fitting as simplistic as possible. For the cold side from the intercooler to the throttle body, the original pipework begins at 60mm and tapers to 58mm in diameter, but our replacement features a 70mm internal diameter throughout until it meets the throttle body, increasing both flow and capacity. On the hot side coming from the turbo to the intercooler, the original pipework measures 60mm where as our kit features a 63mm internal diameter from start to finish with no restrictions. It also does away with the original resonator, which VW fits to reduce noise but removing it improves flow, capacity and noise. The kit requires no additional drilling or cutting to fit and comes complete with all the correct fixtures and fittings, as well as detailed instructions. A must have for any modified Mk8 Golf R models to help the improve the boost pipework’s flow and efficiency.
