This is usually due to the fact that the sensor is reading the added exhaust gas flow and it could identify this as a fault. Why do I need a catch can?The original oil breather set up can cause issues with carbon build-up inside the engine’s intake system over time. It forms an oily sludge that covers parts of the intake and inlet valves, which reduces air flow and therefore performance and efficiency. Once the build-up has formed, it’s a costly process to clean, so it makes sense to take preventative measures in order to avoid carbon build-up forming. A catch can also filters harmful contaminants before they can reach the inlet system. As part of our expanding Peugeot product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our intercooler upgrade for the 308 GTi, suitable for track or fast road use. In order to ensure there is no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving on road or track, we have developed a larger, freer-flowing intercooler that is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM item. Our solution to increasing the intercooler’s size and performance is based upon our stepped-core design to make the the most of the limited space available behind the bumper. The new core design is significantly deeper, which offers a huge 78% increase in overall capacity in comparison to the original intercooler. It also offers a 16% increase in frontal area over standard, which allows it to make the very most of the air flow provided. Together with our high-flow, moulded one-piece cast end tanks to ensure flow is directed correctly and efficiently, the AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler offers much greater efficiency and volume over standard. Despite this improvement, the kit fits neatly behind the original bumper and requires no trimming or cutting, so can be reverted back to standard with no issues.
