The factory shifter cable bracket is made from plastic with rubber bushings. Over time the bushings wear out, and during long races, heat can cause the bracket to flex and break. Please click the link here to see a list of Installation Videos *** VERY IMPORTANT: DETERMINE WHICH VERSION FITS YOUR VEHICLE *** There are two items to verify to determine the correct version for your vehicle, and they correspond to the fore and aft shifter linkage (moves when you move the shift lever forwards and backwards) and the side to side shifter linkage (moves when you move the shift lever left or right). For the fore and aft shifter linkage cable end, determine if the shape is rectangular or round. For the side to side shifter linkage determine if the relay material is made of metal or plastic. The graphic below on the left shows the orientation of the cable ends looking into the engine bay from in front of the car. The graphic below on the right shows how to identify a rectangle shifter cable end vs. a round shifter cable end. 034Motorsport's Motorsport StreetSport Mounts for Audi 8V/8V.5 A3/S3 8S TT/TTS and VW Mk7 Golf/GTI/R models are the new standard in ultra-high performance. These mounts are designed with extreme performance in mind, manufactured from billet aluminum and high-durometer rubber, making them virtually indestructible, while maintaining better ride characteristics than polyurethane alternatives. These mounts have a lifetime guarantee regardless of power level applied and type of track racing they are used for. Motorsport StreetSport Mounts are void-free and fluid-free, eliminating the slop associated with the factory engine/transmission mounts, and are designed to be completely rebuildable with replaceable Density Line rubber bushings. These heavy-duty mounts will result in a moderate increase in noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) transfer into the cabin, as they are designed to drastically reduce engine movement compared to the factory parts, but will introduce less NVH than our TrackSport mounts due to the lower-durometer rubber used. Additional NVH is most noticeable at idle, but once the vehicle is moving, NVH is slightly higher than stock. HIGH-DUROMETER RUBBER VS. POLYURETHANE: Density Line Mounts are manufactured from high-durometer rubber instead of polyurethane for a number of reasons. While vulcanized rubber mounts are more expensive to prototype due to increased complexity of manufacturing and high initial tooling costs, rubber is inherently better than polyurethane as a damping medium for mounts and bushings. Rubber is able to deal with stress under both tension and compression, while polyurethane mounts rely on the damping medium to be effective only under compression. Rubber is also excellent in shear, where polyurethane is ineffective, making it ideal for applications that apply a shear force to the bushing during articulation. Rubber does not pack and wear like polyurethane does, which ultimately results in a long-lasting part with consistent performance. APR is pleased to present the ultimate Pendulum Mount Upgrade! The APR Pendulum mount replaces the factory mount with a new, thick, billet-aluminum and billet-stainless-steel two-piece design, featuring a PTFE-lined spherical bearing and new bolts. The system stiffens the driveline to improve shift quality and power transition. It is easy to install, addresses all concerns with the factory setup and includes all necessary hardware to bolt on and enjoy! Quick Facts: Reduces transmission movementBy removing the factory rubber bushing, the APR system reduces slop in the driveline to improve shifts, and transmission of power to the ground. Expect a sportier feel during acceleration, deceleration and gear changes without an excessive increase in NVH when paired with the factory sub-frame mount. Spherical bearingSpherical bearings offer far less unwanted movement over rubber and polyurethane inserts. As such, the APR mount uses a spherical bearing, made possible by upgrading the rear mounting hardware. To harness your power increases, and transfer that power to the track where you need it, our Uprated Drivetrain Mounts will give a much more solid drive, and crucially add durability to any high-powered or hard-driven car.The whole engine and gearbox (the drivetrain) is located in just three places. The two upper mounts support the entire weight of the engine/gearbox, plus a third Lower Mount underneath the engine. TRANSFORM THE DRIVE Transform the drive through eliminating wheel-hop off the line and through aggressive gearchanges. LOWER MOUNT For road cars, we recommend just the Uprated Lower Engine Mount for the perfect compromise EXTENSIVE DEVELOPMENT Careful development of the durometer (stiffness) rating of the polymer used, meaning less compromise on NVH. MATCHED SET High-powered, track or hard-driven cars, should have the full Uprated Mount Set as the ultimate choice. OK, these Mounts aren't the most visible or sexy of modifications. But for those in the know, with high-power cars or who use their car regularly on track, our Uprated Engine Mount Set is truly one of the most worthwhile upgrades to the driving dynamics of their car. Suitable for either DSG or manual cars. The Uprated Full Set of Engine Mount stiffens the whole location of the drivetrain greatly to give a much tighter, sharper feeling to your car. It removes the loose feeling when coming on and off-throttle during aggressive gearchanges, and banishes wheel-hop under hard acceleration as the whole engine and 'box assembly judders.This adds strength to the drivetrain, helping to protect from future wear and breakages. Rather than some aftermarket 'push in' bushes which crudely fill the voids in the original factory mounts, the RacingLine mounts are a completely redesigned replacement mount assembly and torque link. Make no mistake, the full uprated engine mount kit is a relatively extreme modification to make to your car. Naturally, more noise from the drivetrain comes into the cabin (and more than when the Lower Engine Mount only is fitted), but most keen drivers love the sense that they are more 'connected' to their car, and the gentle 'growl' that the mount conveys. Allow a few hundred miles/kms of driving for the mount to settle in after installation. LOWER MOUNT. For most hard-driven road cars, we recommend starting with the Lower Mount only. You can always add the two upper engine and gearbox mounts at a later stage. A lot the fore/aft movement in the drivetrain is controlled by the Lower Mount - meaning that changing it alone makes a big difference to your drive. The additional two upper mounts add more strength, but also add in more NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). Our A5-platform mount (think Golf 5/6/Scirocco/S3 8P etc) is a two-piece unit pressed into the subframe. Motorsport TrackSport Mounts are void-free and fluid-free, eliminating the slop associated with the factory engine/transmission mounts, and are designed to be completely rebuildable with replaceable Density Line rubber bushings. These extreme-duty mounts will increase noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) transfer into the cabin, as they are designed to drastically reduce engine movement compared to the factory parts. HIGH-DUROMETER RUBBER VS. POLYURETHANE: Density Line Mounts are manufactured from high-durometer rubber instead of polyurethane for a number of reasons. While vulcanized rubber mounts are more expensive to prototype due to increased complexity of manufacturing and high initial tooling costs, rubber is inherently better than polyurethane as a damping medium for mounts and bushings. Rubber is able to deal with stress under both tension and compression, while polyurethane mounts rely on the damping medium to be effective only under compression. Rubber is also excellent in shear, where polyurethane is ineffective, making it ideal for applications that apply a shear force to the bushing during articulation. The 034Motorsport MQB Upper Dogbone Mount Insert (patent pending) is required for any MQB platform MkVII Volkswagen Golf/GTI/R, 8V/8V.5 Audi A3/S3/RS3 & MkIII Audi TT/TTS/TTRS using an aftermarket dogbone mount and lower dogbone mount insert.Aggressive driving that causes violent drivetrain movement, such as burn-outs and wheel-hop, will cause the upper and lower dogbone mount assembly to exert a bending moment on the dogbone mount arm, causing it to bend, and in some cases fail.When this failure occurs, the bottom of the engine is unconstrained and the engine will cause damage to other components in the engine bay. The 034Motorsport MQB Upper Dogbone Mount Insert eliminates these bending forces, allowing the dogbone mount to perform flawlessly during these violent events.Installation: To install, you will need to remove the pendulum mount and undo the front anti-roll bar mounting bolts in order to lift the anti-roll bar out of the way. The upper dogbone mount insert then simply slides in position from the top. Once the 'window' area is aligned, the anti-roll bar can then be bolted back in position and the pendulum mount re-fitted.
