Cobra Exhausts - Mercedes-AMG A 45 S Front Downpipe Sports Cat / De-Cat Performance Exhaust

Description

The sports cat option has been designed with a large bore 4.5 in/114.3mm catalyst to 3.5"/88.9mm pipework and fits from the turbo for an optimal flow of exhaust gases.

Cobra Sport performance exhausts enhance the sound, looks and quality of your vehicle giving you the ultimate driving experience. Our sports exhausts range is fully guaranteed to give you assurance of our quality.

The sports cat option has been designed utilising 3.5"/88.9mm pipework with a 4.5 in/114.3mm 200 cell high flow sports catalyst, maximising the flow rates and optimising the tuning potential of the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S. When equipped with Cobra Sport's 200-cell high flow sports cat (and supporting modifications) and specialist EST Performance stage 2 remap, the Mercedes-AMG A45S produced 499.5BHP (+70BHP).

The 3.5"/88.9mm de-cat exhaust version is sold for motorsport and off road use only worldwide.

The sport catalyst version replaces factory emissions devices and is not EC homologated. This may not meet current emission laws for road use in your territory.

Fitment is for motorsport and off road use only as it removes the PPF filter.

IMPORTANT: This exhaust removes the PPF (Petrol Particulate Filter) and will require engine tuning at time of fitment to cancel the EML light on PPF equipped vehicles.

Cobra Sport's high-flow downpipe has a selection of fitment options, for those who want a zero compromise approach and a full stainless-steel downpipe, the Cobra Sport flexi section replaces the factory mild steel flex section with a TIG-welded T304 stainless steel flex for maximum strength and longevity.

Both the ‘Including Cobra Sport Flex Upgrade’ and Downpipe ‘To Standard Flex’ options are compatible with both the standard and Cobra Sport cat back systems.

Sports Cat Test Results:

Sound - Engine at Idle: 69dB (+6.7dB) - Static 4,000rpm test: 93.8dB (+13.1dB)

All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied.

IMPORTANT: This exhaust removes the PPF (Petrol Particulate Filter) and will require engine tuning at time of fitment to cancel the EML light.

Fitment is for motorsport and off-road use only as this system removes the PPF filter.

Press Release

Mercedes launched the original A 45 AMG in 2013, and it was an instant success, becoming the benchmark hyper hatch and the new Mercedes-AMG A 45 S is taking over from where the previous model left off.

The new Mercedes-AMG A 45 S has a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, just like its predecessor, but the design of the 'M139' AMG engine is heavily revised and now produces 421BHP, 60BHP more than the original A45.

This power is put to the ground via AMG's 4Matic+ All-Wheel Drive system, and the result is a 0-62MPH time of 3.9 seconds and an embarrassed look on the face of any supercar driver when they try and race Affalterbach's latest pocket rocket. However, one area where the AMG A 45 S lacks compared to its predecessor is its exhaust note, which has been significantly tamed at the factory.

Every variant of AMG A-Class has been a tuners dream thanks to their horsepower-hungry engines and extremely planted handling characteristics. Cobra Sport have enjoyed enormous success in this field, with their performance exhausts for both the previous generation A 45 AMG and latest AMG A 35 being amongst the best-selling systems in the market.

Cobra Sport have enhanced the audible exhaust output of the latest generation AMG A 45 S, by opting for 3”/76.2mm stainless steel pipework for the biggest upgrade in terms of performance, flow rate and sound levels. The free-flowing Cobra Sport exhaust setup completely transforms the vehicle and will open up the future tuning possibilities.

For those who want to significantly improve sound levels but keep the GPF and standard catalyst in place, Cobra Sport offers their unique rear box delete range. This cat back exhaust setup removes the rear silencer to offer the biggest sound increase whilst keeping a sporty exhaust tone (+11.7dB in cat back non-resonated rear box delete configuration). The Cobra Sport team were also able to reduce the weight of this setup by an impressive 26% over the OEM system.
