This oil catch tank kit is for the Alfa Romeo Mito 1.4 QV and Abarth Punto EVO. Developed by our in-house development team, not only is it beautifully designed, it has been created to capture the maximum amount of harmful contaminants, including oil deposits, unused fuel vapours and moisture, all of which would ordinarily make their way back through to the inlet of the engine. Extensive testing has proven our oil catch tank kit's ability to effectively reduce sludge and carbon build up, in turn allowing the engine to both breathe and perform more efficiently. During our development of this product we have seen oil temperatures reduced significantly. The Hyundai oil cooler has its inlet and outlets placed in the correct position for optimum flow , when oil coolers are fitted upside-down this can lead to cavitation (air locks) within the system, this can over a prolonged period of time lead to engine fatigue and potentially internal component damage due to insufficient engine lubrication. Unlike many oil cooler kits, the FMOC11 keeps the factory oil to water cooler in position. This essentially doubles your engines oil cooling. This kit has been designed to address the weakness of the stock oil cooler – the cooler fitted to your car from Audi is aluminium, but the fittings on the ends of the cooler hoses are steel. The result is corrosion between the two different metals which cracks the fittings over time, causing a slow oil leak that gets worse with age, and eventually ends in a catastrophic failure of the oil cooler lines - and if you are unlucky, the engine too. Due to the corrosion setting in on the lines, they usually cannot be removed from the oil cooler without damaging it. This results in the need for the oil cooler and both lines to be replaced at a cost of over £1100 from the dealer, before you factor in consumables and labour to change the parts. Our solution uses tried and test products. It is a full replacement right from the fitting on the engine block which is precision made from 6082 billet aluminium, and then anodised to prevent any possibility of corrosion. This fitting leads to -12 AN Hose Technik black anodised aluminium fittings on Hose Technik braided lines with black overbraid. Cooling is accomplished by a 19 row Setrab oil cooler, the same manufacturer that supplies Audi and several F1 teams, again with a black finish. All the mating parts are similar materials and are tried and tested in Motorsport - there is no fear of corrosion affecting the fittings after a few years of use. The cooler is supported on a laser cut and powder coated frame that also holds the Audi fan control module in place. With everything finished in black, it makes for the ultimate stealth installation and unless you know what you are looking for, you won’t see it. The original remit of this replacement was to do away with all the troublesome Audi parts, which this kit accomplishes, but by relocating the oil cooler slightly higher than stock, we have also reduced the chances of damage from road debris. Excess crankcase pressure is vented from the crankcase through the PCV system, where it is drawn into the intake manifold and returned by the engine. This recirculated air contains aerated oil from the crankcase which is burned by the engine. Turbo charged engines often draw significant amounts of oil into the engine through the PCV system.  This oil catch tank system removes aerated oil so that it can be drained and recycled. The kit is suitable for intallation to the 2 litre FSi engines such as in the VW MK5 Golf , MK5 Golf Edition 30 and SEAT Leon Cupra (not for engine codes CCTA CBFA). This oil catch tank kit is the product of many months of intensive research and development by our in-house development team, and the end result is by far the most complete oil collection system currently on the market. Not only is it beautifully designed, it has been created to capture the maximum amount of harmful contaminants, including oil deposits, unused fuel vapours and moisture, all of which would ordinarily make their way back through to the inlet of the engine. Extensive testing has proven our oil catch tank kit's ability to effectively reduce sludge and carbon build up, in turn allowing the Golf Mk5 GTI's TSI engine to both breathe and perform more efficiently. It can therefore be viewed as a genuine performance enhancing product and one we recommend any Mk5 GTI owner seriously consider, particularly if they are planning more advanced power tuning at a later date.   The 0.4l (400cc) catch tank boasts a slew of features intended to make it both easy to check and simple to drain, including a dipstick for level inspection.   The design of the kit has also been carefully considered, hence its inner tube which is constructed from anti-static smooth fuel resistant nitrile rubber. This is paired with an outer cover made from reinforced stainless steel wire braid (a Forge specialty), specifically a partial inner braid and a full cover outer braid. We developed this complex arrangement in order for the tank to be resistant to both pressure expansion and vacuum collapse, and also to enable the kit to function within a clearly defined temperature range – 54°C to +150°C (-65°F to 300°F)   Finally, the kit features a pair of stainless steel reinforced oil resistant hoses with black external braiding, which combine with the supplied fittings to form an OEM-looking product when installed.
