The stock PCV on the TFSI engine is quite fragile and over time, or when running lots of boost, the diaphragm inside can rip which can result in excessive blowby entering the inlet manifold at idle (smoking from the tailpipe) or a loss of boost when driving, which can cause other problems. Traditionally we fit a catch can to remove the PCV entirely and catch the oil vapours from the engine as seen here: FMMK5CTC and FMMK5CT. But if you want a cheaper and simpler solution, you can delete the PCV and divert the breathing to the rear cam cover outlet only, by using our Forge Motorsport PCV Delete kit. Simply put, it removes the PCV and links the two internal ports together which emulates what happens inside the stock PCV when the engine is on boost, but without any fragile components to break or split. This completely isolates the inlet manifold from the cam cover. This fits vehicles with a Charcoal Filter Installed. Excess crankcase pressure is vented from the crankcase through the PCV system, where it is drawn into the intake manifold and returned by the engine. This recirculated air contains aerated oil from the crankcase which is burned by the engine. Turbo charged engines often draw significant amounts of oil into the engine through the PCV system. This oil catch tank system removes aerated oil so that it can be drained and recycled. A set of 4 silicone hoses for the Volkswagen Mk5 Golf 2 Litre Turbo. The hoses, constructed from the highest grade European silicone and fabric reinforced, can withstand geater temperatures and pressures than the original organic rubber hoses. All Carbon Canister hoses are lined with a fluorosilicone rubber compound that gives protection against any oil or oil mist that may be present. Oil will degrade and discolour unprotected silicone hoses. The hoses are available in a choice of red, black, and blue, simply select your choice in the options above when ordering.
