APR Turbo Inlet System - EA888 Gen4 265-333ps MQB Evo Models Compatible Vehicles -Volkswagen- Golf Mk8- Audi S3 (8Y) The APR Turbo Inlet System is a comprehensive upgrade to your factory or modified intake system. To maximize performance addressing the restrictive components between the airbox and turbocharger are a top priority. It's common to individually upgrade these components, but doing so is not ideal as it mean sacrificing overall design for the sake of compatibility. This is why the APR system is one complete upgrade from the turbocharger to the intake airbox. We were able to increase the diameter as large as possible with the best geometry from the turbo to the intake airbox to promote the maximum amount of flow with the lowest pressure drop. The system starts at 80mm and can expand up to 88mm for larger airbox systems. On the Golf R we increased flow by over 30% at each measured inlet depression! This means the turbo doesn't have to work as hard, which translates to lower temperature, and improved performance. This system is compatible with the factory intake airbox, and works perfectly with an APR intake filter for those who prefer a "stealth" OE airbox upgrade. The APR Open PEX intake system is the best price/performance intake system on the market and has already been installed thousands of times in vehicles.The sound and performance of the engine were significantly increased and the restrictive area in the intake tract was eliminated. This made it possible to reduce the pressure loss and increase the efficiency of the turbocharger while doing the same work. This results in more power and torque while reducing load. The system uses a washable 7-inch and very high quality conical cotton filter that has a 4-inch connection.This was also necessary to reduce the standard pressure drop and maximize the airflow while also significantly increasing the sound aspect. The PEX material conducts heat very poorly, which also benefits the system and therefore ideally contributes to increasing performance.The PEX material still gives the engine compartment a touch of stock component, as far as you can say for an open air filter. The material also offers the advantage that almost any design can be realized. This made it possible to create an extremely complex and organic shape of the heat shield, which can effectively shield the hot air from below. The factory inlet forces the airflow to pass through the restrictive plastic 'bellows' pipe, before tapering right down to run through a tight and restrictive plastic turbo inlet - in other words, terrible for flow. The RacingLine Turbo Inlet System replaces this pipework with a larger diameter smooth-flowing silicon hose mated to a larger diameter thin-wall free flowing intake elbow. The internal diameter of the Turbo 90 Inlet is massively increased from 62.5mm on the factory part right up to 76mm. It's by combining the two parts of the kit that's allowed us to enlarge the diameter of both the Inlet and the Hose so much - and so give the maximum possible gains. Put simply, without it, you’re wasting much of the potential of your high-flow intake system without fitting this Turbo Inlet System. An essential upgrade!
